M&M Jewellers have a true passion for high quality jewellery at affordable prices. We believe that your jewellery is an extension of your personality and therefore not one person has the same.
Every single purchase is individual. What people require from a piece of jewellery differs from person to person. It may be a commemorative piece or just a little treat; either way we pride ourselves in giving you all the knowledge you need.
Since being a teenager, when she worked as a ‘Saturday girl’, Catharine has had an overwhelming passion and enjoyment for jewellery. When you ask her why she got into the jewellery industry, she will say;
“When I was working as a Saturday girl I absolutely loved it; at the end of the day I would be paid! Paid! Wow can you imagine being paid to do this forever? I would of done it for free! I just couldn’t believe that you could earn a living doing something like this”.
And so her passion for jewellery was born.
After finishing school she went on to further her education at Birmingham Jewellery School where she gained her Diamond Diploma and Gemmological Diploma (FGA/DGA). She then went on to work alongside her old boss and ex father in law until she was in her 30’s. Following this she then moved to Rugby and worked alongside her old boss and good friend. 16 years ago she was in a position to buy the jewellers M&M; the shop she had worked in for many years and come to love. Catharine’s old boss retired and it seemed like a natural progression and the opportunity Catharine had yearned for. Her own shop, perfect. She successfully ran this alongside her husband John and sales assistant Liz.
Twelve years ago Francesca, Catharines eldest daughter joined the team. Francesca also has the same passion as her mother for jewellery and aims to carry the business forward as Catharine semi retires.
Over the years M&M Jewellers has evolved and grown over the years and now has a diverse and highly trained team of five people who we can say we are proud to be taking our business forward.

We understand that choosing your wedding rings for example doesn’t happen every day and choosing an engagement ring can be a daunting experience; What do I buy? What do I spend? What does it all mean? Because of this we value every single sale and we aim to offer an informal; yet professional service that we hope puts you at ease as soon as you walk through the door.
Every night we close our door, we are proud of the jewellery that we sell, the service we provide and the experience that our customers have received. Seeing people happy and return year on year and bringing their children and grandchildren is more rewarding than you can imagine and a testament to Catharine’s hard work.
Meet the Team
Catharine
Partner
Catharine has worked in the jewellery industry for over 40 years. After working as a Saturday girl whilst at school she went on to study her Gemmology and Diamond qualifications (FGA/DGA) at Birmingham jewellery school. She went on to manage and work alongside Mike and Maggie Billins (the original owners of M&M Jewellery). 16 years ago, Catharine was fortunate enough to purchase the business. Catharine brings a wealth of knowledge an experience to the business; she’s the brains behind M&M; she is responsible for how M&M looks and takes responsibility for the bulk of the buying. Catharine’s personality is reflected throughout the shop. Catharine is a recognised member of prestigious jewellery membership groups GEM-A.
John
Partner
John and Catharine are a husband and wife team. John comes from a sales background. John predominantly takes care of the watch side of our business; which includes watch batteries, watch repairs and sales.
Liz
Sales Assistant
Liz has been part of the M&M team for nearly 16 years. She offers a wealth of knowledge form her time working with us; and fantastic customer service skills. Liz predominantly focuses on the jewellery side of our business; aiding in sales and the daily running of the business.
Francesca
Manager
Francesca is Catharine’s eldest daughter. Francesca is the third generation of jewellers in the family. Francesca studied Business Management at university and afterwards went on to study her Jewellers’ diploma at Birmingham jewellery school. Francesca has worked alongside her parents for 12 years and over that time has learnt a vast amount of knowledge. Francesca is a recognised member of the NAJ (National Jewellers association).
Tommy
Sales Assistant
Tommy joined our family business after working in a much larger high street chain jewellers. He has over 3 years’ experience working in the jewellery industry. He predominantly focuses on our watch department alongside john. Tommy has a varied knowledge of the jewellery and watch industry.
